Thank you Caryn Ann

We had intended to present these letters to Caryn Ann the night of the Region 1 Caucus, thanking her for the hard work she did. Due to some coordination issues and other things that made it difficult, it wasn’t able to be done. However, that doesn’t mean that we cannot post them here with a huge thank you for the hard work she put in on behalf of the region.

Dear Caryn Ann,

Thank you for all of your good works as the representative for our Libertarian National Committee Region One.  We have better-supported Libertarian Party candidates and members because of your efforts.

With gratitude,
Rob Latham – Utah

Thank you for your passion, dedication, peacemaking, and leadership. You are an inspiration to many.

BE the change,
Michelle Darnell – Washington

Caryn Ann,

Thank you for all of your hard work.  We appreciate everything you have done for us and the party.  You have my support in your run for secretary.  Keep being amazing!

Kevin Bryan – Utah

Dear Caryn Ann,

I could not pass up the opportunity to say thank you for all your hard work. I can see that you are dedicated to fighting for liberty and that you are one of the most respected people in the LP. I believe you have a very fair approach to the issues we face internally as a Party.

Especially impressive was your article on why the Party should drop their official position on abortion. The argument was brilliantly written. It was the first time I read an opinion that is the opposite of mine and didn’t have any negative feelings towards the author. I didn’t feel personally attacked which is very important when trying to recruit new members. It felt like your true purpose was to bring the Party together.

It has been wonderful having you as our representative in region 1. The problem is that anyone who works as tirelessly as you and is as committed to fighting for liberty as you are is bound to move up. I think you should slack off a little bit. Just forget about challenging us to be better libertarians for a little while. Because when you are elected you won’t be our region rep anymore. I am selfish and want to keep you as the rep. but I can’t if you keep doing the amazing job that you have been.

Seriously though, I am so thrilled that you are running for LNC executive committee. I know there are some great challenges ahead and look forward to seeing you tackle them. I want you to know how appreciative I am of everything you do for the party.

For example; being a good example and keeping your head in a civil and fair place. It was how you kept your article on abortion respectful that gives me confidence in your ability to treat sensitive issues with care. You are an outstanding example of what it means to be Libertarian. Every member in region 1 is fortunate to have you as our representative. I am especially grateful to you for being someone to look up to.

It will be a pleasure to watch you in action for many years to come. You are heading in an amazing direction and I know you will make a great secretary for the LNC. I have really enjoyed getting to know you. Keep being the fabulous you that we all have grown to admire.

Warmest Wishes,

Camilla Yearsley
Secretary – Libertarian Party of Weber County

Caryn Ann,

I wanted to take the time to thank you for the hard work and dedication you have given Region 1 over the last two years. You have been an inspiration to many individuals through the example you gave us all.

I personally want to thank you for helping me become a stronger voice and inspiring me to do more, to give everything I have to our cause of a world set free in our lifetimes. When you decided to run for secretary, I will admit that it was a heartbreaking moment for me. However, it was zero hesitation for me to endorse you in the new office you seek, because I know the level of dedication you bring with you.

  • Thank you for taking the time to visit the activists throughout our region.
  • Thank you for taking the time to listen to our concerns.
  • Thank you for having so much transparency in everything you have done.
  • Thank you for being a positive force for good on the LNC.
  • Thank you for being a wonderful mentor.

Lastly, thank you for being a friend. I don’t use that word lightly, but I honestly consider you a friend. The only thing you ever asked of me was to be libertarian. In the political world, friends are rare, and those who claim to be friends often want something in return. You never once made me feel that way.

It has been an honor working with you, from the times I acted as county chair and you took the time to listen to my concerns, to the brief time we shared working on behalf of Region 1 together. I hope that the delegates also see what an asset you are, and we will be able to continue to work together on the LNC.

Regardless of the outcome, I will proudly stand beside our Principled in Pink Libertarian.

In Liberty,

Craig Bowden
Region 1 Alternate

Caryn Ann,
I wanted to take a moment to thank you for the work you’ve done as Region 1’s representative on the LNC. I’m a relative newcomer to the LP, but I see a stark contrast between you and some others I’ve become acquainted with. You seem to me to be part of a small group who doesn’t allow themselves to descend into name calling and bickering. The LNC needs people like you in leadership positions. Thanks so much for your efforts to grow Region 1’s membership, and for your dedicated representation. I’m sad you won’t be continuing as our representative, but wish you the best as you run for LNC Secretary.

In Liberty,
Jeffrey Whipple

From Nick Sarwark

Caryn Ann Harlos, you’ve been one of the most thorough, available, and
engaged regional representatives I have seen over the nearly twenty
years I’ve been in the Libertarian Party. As a resident of your
region, I appreciate your willingness to continue your predecessor’s
habit of sending out a newsletter to residents of the region as well
as your willingness to reach out to members to address their concerns.
Thank you to Caryn Ann for increasing the size of the shoes for
whoever is chosen to replace you.
